What is forestry mulching?

Forestry mulching uses a powered mulching head to cut and process vegetation into smaller material on site. It is an option for managing brush and smaller woody vegetation. The right approach depends on your vegetation, property conditions and the result you want. Send photos and tell us what you want cleared.

What we can help with

  • Brush and understory clearing

  • Forestry mulching of vegetation 6 inches in diameter and smaller

  • Vegetation and fuel reduction work around properties

  • Driveway and access clearing

  • Slash haul-off or on-site processing, as agreed in the project scope

We also offer forest thinning, ladder fuel removal, dead and down tree removal, hazard tree removal, culvert installation and drainage improvements. Larger trees are a separate removal task; the 6-inch diameter limit applies to our forestry mulching head. Describe the work you need so we can plan the right approach.

Forestry mulching or brush hogging?

Forestry mulching uses our excavator-mounted head for brush and woody vegetation up to 6 inches in diameter. Brush hogging and field mowing use an 8-foot heavy-duty rotary mower on our Kubota M6060 tractor. If you are unsure which service you need, send photos of the vegetation and the area. We’ll review the project with you.

Wildfire mitigation and defensible space work

We provide defensible space clearing, including Zone 1 and Zone 2 work, forest thinning and fuel reduction based on an agreed property scope. Our insured crew uses equipment suited to the work. We can provide property assessments, a written scope, fuel reduction recommendations and before-and-after documentation. If an insurer, HOA or fire professional has provided requirements, include them with your inquiry so we can discuss the requested work and documentation.

How to get a quote

  1. Send your location, property photos and project goals through our Jobber request form.

  2. We review the vegetation and property conditions and discuss whether a site visit is needed.

  3. We agree on the work area, clearing method, material handling and price before scheduling.

Forestry mulching questions

How large can the vegetation be?

Our forestry mulching head handles trunks and stems up to 6 inches in diameter—six-inch rounds, not a six-inch height limit. Include photos and the approximate trunk or stem diameter in your request.

Do you haul away the cleared material?

Material handling depends on the project. We can discuss on-site processing and slash haul-off. For separate piles or cleanup debris, see our junk removal and debris hauling service.

What affects the cost?

The work area, vegetation size and density, property conditions, equipment needs and haul-off requirements affect the quote. Photos help us understand the project; we may need to review the property before pricing the work.

Does clearing guarantee insurance approval?

No. We do not promise insurance approval or certification. Share any written requirements with us and confirm acceptance directly with the organization that issued them.
